Tumbbad takes us on a journey of discovering the limitlessness of greed, deeply embedded in one’s own consciousness, and its consequences.
The gory womb of the Goddess represents the millions of opportunities that exist around us which drive us towards the desire of earning and becoming more, much beyond the confines of scruples and ethics. The curse on Tumbbad resonates with the dampness which breathes inside the human soul, echoed by the darkness which prevails throughout the film.
I am still in the process of trying to figure out the dreams of that little girl. I wonder if it’s too late and I should make peace with the idea that I will never be able to have one definite dream, because maybe I have too many.
Sprinkled a little magic in the real world
Whether the paper turned red or blue
I am not aware
But it surely turned immortal
With friendship, comes the responsibility of understanding the multiple layers intertwined scruffily within a person’s psyche and each layer needs to be handled with utmost care. The beauty of friendship, and therefore love, lies in embracing a person for who they are, garnished with flaws and rooted in darkness, without having the urge to change anything about them.
